More than an awards program
We are a trusted institution, a global community, and a movement committed to honoring excellence in storytelling and amplifying voices that create meaningful impact.
The International Impact Book Awards runs year-round across fifty categories. An author submits a complete manuscript, it is assessed by the Literary Metric Assessment System against all ten pillars, and it is then read in the context of its category by our lead reviewer, who makes the determination.
A book that meets the Standard of Excellence receives the International Impact Book Award in its category, and its author becomes a Distinguished Author. There is no nomination, no shortlist, and no committee.
We also run one competition. Author of the Year names a single winner in each category at a gala in Hollywood every October, judged against the same ten pillars.
We welcome self-published authors, independent publishers, and traditionally published writers alike, across every genre we recognize. How a book reached print has no bearing on how it is read.
Our mission and our vision
Our mission
To elevate and amplify the voices of authors worldwide by providing a platform for recognition and support.
We help authors reach a broader audience, and we foster a literary community where writers connect, collaborate, and celebrate one another’s achievements. We serve authors with passion and integrity, and we are building a global family of writers empowered to make a lasting impact through their work.
Our vision
To become the world’s leading global platform for author recognition, visibility, and literary impact, uniting exceptional authors, publishers, media leaders, film festivals, cultural institutions, and industry partners across every major international market.
We see the International Impact Book Awards as more than an awards organization. We see a global movement that elevates powerful stories, connects purpose-driven creators with world-class opportunities, and builds bridges between literature, media, film, publishing, business, and culture.
We intend to grow through strategic partnerships, international events, and aligned collaborations. Not alone, but alongside the people and organizations who share our belief in the power of storytelling.
From Hollywood to Dubai, China, Switzerland, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and beyond, we are working toward a worldwide ecosystem where authors are celebrated on prestigious stages, meaningful stories reach new audiences, and books become catalysts for visibility, opportunity, influence, and lasting impact.
We raised the bar, and published it
In June 2026 we introduced the Standard of Excellence: ten pillars in four families, with what is assessed under each one, set out in full and available to read before anyone pays a fee.
It is a harder standard than the one it replaced, and it is one an author can check for themselves. That combination is the point. An award means more when the bar is higher, and it means more again when anyone can see where the bar sits.
Books honored from June 2026 receive the International Impact Book Award in their category, and their authors are Distinguished Authors.
Authors honored before June 2026 were named winners in their category. That designation stands. Nothing has been withdrawn, reduced, or renamed.
Who we are, and what we are connected to
The International Impact Book Awards is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, and was founded by Nim Stant, a USA Today bestselling author and TEDx speaker.
We are one of three companies under the same ownership, and we would rather you heard that from us than found it out.
International Impact Book Awards
The awards, the Impact Archive, and the events. This company, and the only one involved in any determination.
The Authors Business School
Education and coaching for authors building a business around their book. A separate company with a separate team.
World Experts PR
Media and publicity services for authors. A separate company with a separate team.
What that means in practice. Neither of the other two companies has any part in judging, and buying anything from either of them has no bearing on whether a book is recognized. Where a service from either is offered alongside an award, it is labelled as promotional wherever it appears, and it is never offered to an author while their book is under evaluation.
Where authors are honored
Two events a year in Phoenix, and one in Hollywood. Attending is never a condition of anything.
The Impact Honors & Gala Weekend is held twice a year in Phoenix. Two days built around the authors being honored: the Impact Author Festival and Welcome Night on Saturday, the Impact Conference and the Grand Gala on Sunday. At the Gala, every attending Distinguished Author is called to the stage by name, receives their award in person, and speaks.
The Hollywood Grand Gala is held each October and is where Author of the Year is announced. One winner per category, read live from the stage. Nobody is told in advance.
Both are by invitation. Neither is a requirement, and neither affects any outcome.
