Questions about Author of the Year
Books that meet our published Standard of Excellence receive the International Impact Book Award, and their authors become Distinguished Authors. There is no limit on how many can. Author of the Year is a competition with one winner per category. They are entered separately, judged separately, and celebrated at separate events.
Attendance is limited to finalists and the guests they bring. Seats are not sold to the public.
We do occasionally welcome an author who entered and asked to be there. Write to us at contact@internationalimpactbookawards.com and we will consider it individually. These are case-by-case decisions, and no purchase of any kind affects the answer.
Finalists are notified directly by email once evaluation concludes, ahead of the gala. Your invitation to Hollywood arrives with that notification.
No. Winners are announced live from the stage and nobody outside the announcement team knows in advance. Every finalist finds out at the same moment the room does.
No. Attendance has no bearing on any outcome, and no ticket, upgrade, or purchase affects judging in any way. Winners who cannot travel are recognized and receive their award regardless.
Yes. They are separate submissions with separate fees and separate evaluations. A book can be Distinguished through the year-round program and also entered for Author of the Year when submissions open.
Books published in 2020 or later, whether traditionally published or self-published. Authors anywhere in the world may enter.
Yes. An Impact Assessment Summary is available as an optional add-on at $39. It sets out how your book was assessed against the ten pillars of the Standard of Excellence, and is delivered with your result.
